 When creating an energy vortex with selenite, it's important to consider where the vortex will be created and what your intention is in doing so.
Remember that when you create a vortex, you will intensify the energy in any given room. I highly recommend NOT creating one in your bedroom. Selenite by itself can keep you awake because of it's incredible mental enhancing energies. Selenite can induce very active dreaming with just one small wand under your pillow. Bringing 6 huge wands of selenite into your bedroom may make it impossible to sleep.
Also, the vortex created can be uncomfortable for some people, especially those people who have had no interaction with selenite before. It can be overwhelming at first just to hold a selenite wand. Creating a vortex in your living room can create a very powerful energy that may make some people so uncomfortable that they don't come by often. And they won't know why unless you talk with them and explain the energy and introduce them to selenite.
After you've chosen your location (a spare bedroom or creative work space), you can build your vortex with the help of others or you can draw the energy in by yourself. Using your imaginative abilities, as well as having very clear intent as to the use of the cortex, are very important in setting the energy. Remember that the energy you create will come back to you. Your intent to create that which is only for the highest good of all and to do no harm to anyone is absolutely essential.
Once you decided on the place, your intent and how you will use the vortex, you will want to clear the space using either burned sage or the cleansing sage and/or blessing spray available in my store. You can use any other cleansing ritual you prefer. If you know Reiki, there are several symbols that can help to clear a room of energies. Even prayer will work if your intent is clear.
Now this whole process of creating a vortex can be done using other crystals as well as selenite. Generally, you choose stones that you feel are appropriate to your intention of what the vortex is for. You start with a larger crystal that will be in the center of the wheel of crystals, sort of like building a fire pit. There are stones that create the outer circle and the wood creates the fire in the center.
Imagine that the stone in the center is where all the energy of the selenite (in this application) will be focused.
For example, if you want to create a peace and love vortex, choose a very large rose quartz. It could be a crystal sphere or in rough form. If you want to create a spirit soothing vortex, you could choose a large blue kyanite. If you want to create a strong protection vortex, choose a large black kyanite. The choices are limited only by your knowledge of stones and your imagination.
Let's say you've chosen to create a peace and love vortex. You have your rose quartz sphere or rough crystal.
To start, you declare (outloud) your intent in opening this vortex in the space you've chosen. State what the vortex will be used for and how it will be maintained. If it is only temporary and to be moved, state that this is so. If it is to be in place for an extended period of time, say that as well.
Create a spot in the space you've chosen for your grid where it won't be walked on by cats, or handled by kids. You get the idea. A safe place.
Set your 6 selenite wands (or other crystals) in a circle around the large main crystal that will be the center of your grid.
You may call upon your guides, masters, angels and teachers to help you and then you can start to work with your visualization. Imagine that you, and those you have called there to help you, are standing in a circle around a swirling pool of light that is pouring in from above. The pool swirls faster and expands and gets larger. Fill it with color and even sound if you choose.
As this swirling light gets bigger, imagine now an opening appears in the earth. It is a connection to the planetary light grids. The smallest or lowest point of the swirling energy you created moving into this opening and connecting with the larger grid that is connected around the earth.
Once you see and/or feel this connection of the light of your vortex with the greater vortex that is around the earth, continue to allow the light to feed into both grids from above. Again, state your intent for this vortex.
Now, imagine that the vortex is sinking into the earth leaving part above and part below. The imagine that the energy is 'fitting" into the space that you have planned for it to occupy, namely where your crystals are laid.
Once you are statisfied with the feel of it, state that this vortex can only be used for the highest good of all and that it's energy will bring harm to no one.
Your energy vortex is now created and your work done. Thank all of those you called to help and tell them they may go now.
Maintain your vortex by swirling the energy, expanding it, feeling it light (like you did at the beginning), feeding it color and sound or Reiki energy on a regular basis, be that daily or weekly is up to you. Activate and call in the energy of your vortex crystals when you do this work.
If you need to move the vortex, it is important to close the vortex you've created before moving it and creating another one.
Use the same proces you used to close it as you used to open it. By reversing the whole thing, you can withdraw the vortex from the planetary light grids and close the opening you originally created. Then you can recreate the vortex elsewhere, or with another centeral crystal with a different intent.
To create a temporary vortex with you as the center, place the selenite wands pointing in towards your body as if they were part of a halo of light extending outwards; one at your head, one at each shoulder, one at each knee and one pointing in at your feet. Make sure your intent makes clear that this is a temporary vortex for meditation, visualization, or healing, and that the vortex does not go down into the earth. Instead, see you as the center with the light from above coming into the selenite wands with you as the receiver of this energy.
Always keep in mind when you're working with any energy, that your actions have consequences. Make the highest good your constant intent in everything that you when working with crystals and their energy.
